A group of youth from East, West and Central Madressah,, As-Sadiq Islamic School and Al-Mahdi Islamic Centre (all in Toronto) along with Toronto area jamaat and Zainabia Islamic Centre (in Detroit) will be performing the blessed Ziayarat of Aba Abdillah Hussain (AS) this Moharram. Orphanage and School Fundraising Walk-a-thon from Najaf to Kerbala.
These youth and adults will walk with the local zawwars from Najaf to Kerbala, a distance of 80km+ to raise funds for the “Orphanage of Syeda Rukiyya (AS)” under the governance of Ayatollah Sistani for the noble and worthy cause of the Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation in Kerbala.
Your donation, whether it is $5 or $5,000 will go directly to the Imam Hussain (AS) Foundation to build a school for the orphans in Kerbala. Each classroom costs $5,000 to build. The goal of this walk-a-thon is to raise substantial funds to help build this four storey building, complete with classrooms and equipment.
The Holy Prophet (SAW) narrated from Allah, the Exalted, on the night of Me’raj that: “O’ Ahmad! My love is the loving of the poor. Bring the poor nearer to yourself and situate them close to yourself in order that I approach you…”
