2 The alarm system Note the lock system is not connected with the alarm So before entering the door to the main computer room you have to know the procedures! Don’t hesitate to ask if you are uncertain Take responsibility for persons you let in!

3 The alarm Codes for the alarm is handed out by Gert or Erwin The normal procedure for turning off the alarm CODE + A only turns section 1 off

4 If the alarm goes off? The alarm goes to the Securitas In day time they will call me and ask what to do If they can’t reach me a security guard is sent During evenings and nights KTH has security guards on site and they will be sent on the alarm In case of a alarm by mistake you should alternatively: 1.Call Securitas and give your personal code if you have one 2.Call me and report the mistake

5 Fire detection and suppression Room 240, 241 and 233 is protected by a special system The air quality (particles) is continuously measured by sniffing devices If the number of particles rate go up a pre-alarm is sent and a warning tone from the device The pre-alarm is also send via to subscribers to the monitoring system (Moped). When the rate goes over a certain level the full alarm is turned on which means you should leave the room After that the gas bottles are opened and a mixture of argon and nitrogen is entering the room. The gas is not toxic and you could still breathe Each room is a special section

6 Fire…

7 Fire…. However there is a small storm so objects in the room might fly around and hurt you The gas is pretty expensive so don’t turn it on by mistake Dust and hot works can turn the system on so if you do any work that may be dusty or hot please contact Johnny or Harald to turn the system off! Check dust level on the panel INSIDE the room before you turn it on

8 In case of a real fire… In case of a real fire Press the red gas release button Go out right away The alarm should go to the fire brigade Call 112 anyway Call 08 – for the KTH emergency team Call Gert to inform

9 The assault alarm Buttons to press in case of assault or other serious emergency problems requiring the police Press two fingers upwards The police will come directly Not possible to with-draw the alarm

10 Rules for working the in computer room Always wear hearing protection of some form Bring you mobile phone If possible inform your room mate or some colleagues what you are doing If you see that the alarm is not turned on in the evening please check the room In case of more dangerous work always work in pair

11 If a serious accident happens Use your mobile phone Call colleagues for help Call 112 Call 08 – KTH Emergency team If everything else fails press the assault alarm
