IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration AGENDA Discuss current IPAC - Integrated vs Standalone Complete PPC without mission planning data F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration The IPAC-H60 program automates the mission planning process for the H-60 aircraft by integrating with Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS) via bi-directional communication to provide both performance planning and mission planning data from a single application. The Flight Performance Models (FPMs) embedded in the IPAC-H60 are based on numerous sources of data (flight test, test stand, computer simulation and aerodynamic theory) and in many cases the data derived from the IPAC-H60 application is beyond the level of accuracy available from the H-60 Operator’s Manuals. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration When the IPAC-H60 application is installed on a computer with PFPS, IPAC is considered to be in the “Integrated” mode. When the IPAC-H60 application is installed on a computer without PFPS, IPAC is considered to be in the “Standalone” mode. In the integrated mode, upon opening of the IPAC application, PFPS is also opened and operating in the background until selection of a PFPS component (PFPS PreMission, PFPS Point Editor, CFPS, or FalclonView) from the IPAC toolbar. Anytime a New, Open, Save or Save As function is commanded, both IPAC and PFPS may generate messages and/or dialogs for user interaction. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration Refresh (IPAC Integrated Only) This command is enabled when a change is made to a PFPS component (CFPS, FalconView, etc.) or CFPS is calculated. Selecting this command transfers the changed data to IPAC. When the data transfer is complete, the command becomes grayed out until the next change in CFPS is made. During mission planning, anytime the IPAC “Refresh” button becomes enabled, even when no changes have been made in IPAC or a PFPS component (CFPS, PFPS PreMission, PFPS Point Editor, FalconView, etc.), it is recommended that the user continue to select the “Refresh” button until it becomes disabled (grayed out). Selecting the “Refresh” button any time it is enabled ensures synchronization between IPAC and PFPS. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration In IPAC Integrated, the default aircraft upon opening of the program is the H-60A (unless IPAC is opened from a PFPS route utilizing either an H-60L or H-60M). In IPAC Standalone, once the program is closed and reopened, the new H-60 aircraft model selected in the previous IPAC-H60 session will be the default H-60 model. When mission planning with IPAC, it is imperative that internal fuel, external fuel, store weight, store drag and store download values are input and/or adjusted in IPAC, not PFPS. PFPS does not allow for the correct breakdown of internal and external weight, drag and download values to provide the necessary data for H-60 PPC calculations of aircraft capabilities and/or limitations. IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration OPEN IPAC USE THE SLIDES THAT FOLLOW ONLY IF YOU CAN’T USE THE COMPUTER LAB F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration This is the opening page of the stand alone page. Because the program is designed to work with PFPS, it links the cruise data with the departure data. Therefore we need to unlink cruise data by right clicking on departure/cruise and remove cruise from it. The drop down menu “H-60A” is where you use 60A, 60L or 60M. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration Next we can adjust the acft data by clicking on the operating acft Icon. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration On this page if we were in a line unit each airframe could be listed in the acft information drop down link. But we can adjust the basic weight and the operating items weights ourselves. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration On the acft configuration tab we can adjust ETF’s as well as the type of engines as well. F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
IPAC - Integrated Performance & Aircraft Configuration Clicking on the departure under the PPC section we can now put in our max and current PA and temp data F/1-212 Aviation Regiment
