Mid semester Feedback

This PowerPoint slide show is intended to give me the opportunity to apply what I have learned in this course. I will address what I have learned, enjoyed, and what you would like to be changed in the course. This is my chance to show what I know!

 I have done several individual and group assignments which have required reading, collaboration, higher level thinking and a lot of planning and creativity! Working with my team has been VERY supportive!  I created my second website which includes a blog and can be found at:  My group has been collaborating on assignments on our wiki at

I have learned about the history of computers, about people who were influential in the creation of the first computers, parts of a computer such as RAM, ROM, hard drive, and software. I have learned about the difference between computers and humans, and the similarities and differences of using the computer instead of the traditional library to do research. I have learned how to blog, and how to create a wiki, and collaborate on it with my group. I have learned how to analyze websites to see if they are “treasures” or “trash”, and I created a rubric for my students to be able to do the same. I have also learned that websites contain copyrighted information and students need to know how to site their sources. My teammates and I learned how to put together a newsletter written to other teachers about websites we explored. I have learned to juggle many tasks at once, to collaborate with my group daily, and to reflect upon what I am learning. I am also discovering a new theory called the collaborative theory which is new to me. I have explored videos about web 2.0, and digital learners. Digital learners are multi-taskers, and like to see and hear things when they learn. I wrote a poem to describe them… I have learned how to blog, and how to create a wiki, and collaborate on it with my group. I have learned how to analyze websites to see if they are “treasures” or “trash”, and I created a rubric for my students to be able to do the same. I have also learned that websites contain copyrighted information and students need to know how to site their sources. My team mates and I learn ed how to put toget her a newsl etter writte n to other teach ers about websi tes we explo red.

GENERATION "M" We multitask, We learn real fast. We want to play, We develop expertise every day. We can learn new things, But the school year brings, papers, pencils, tests, and, spiral bounds. Where are all the sights and sounds? We are smart with cell phones, beepers, ipods, . Why then, in school do we move like a snail? We need meaning, relevance, we need it now! Generation M, we like technology, we think it’s WOW! By Jaime Nywening

I will incorporate technology into my classroom on a regular basis with my students by having my students: do research online play online educational games do Web Quests on assigned topics create power point presentations create online journals

THIS COURSE IS ABOUT…  Incorporating technology into everyday life  Developing and maintaining a weekly blog  Creating a website based on class assignments as well as information about me  Working collaboratively with group members to accomplish assignments in a timely fashion  Utilizing the chat room weekly and Web CT on a daily basis to communicate with colleagues  Learning to search for information and learning by doing the assignments.

 Allows me to use my creativity  Very current and up to date information  Very challenging  Very engaging and interesting  Love working with my group members  Great tool for learning how to utilize technology in the classroom as well as my personal life  Very time-consuming

There is plenty of reflection and feedback from class- mates and the teacher The course is creative The course is Generation M You work in the same groups on a regular basis, so you always have a support system, and people to talk to. You learn a lot about how to apply technology into your everyday lifestyle and teaching. It is online, so you don’t have to leave your home to attend class, you can do it from the comfort of your own home!

 It seems there are assignments posted in many areas on the DF forum which makes it confusing to know what to do.  All assignments on the submission available immediately to plan throughout the semester  A reduced course load  More feedback on the website and blogs
