GeoChat Workshop in Mukdahan Date 12nd - 13rd March 2009 The objectives 1. To develop a model for disease surveillance rapid reporting through SMS. 2. To build the volunteer team for disease surveillance rapid reporting in Mukdahan as a pilot area. 3. To perform feasibility study of IT disease surveillance report system and the way to improve report system for initial the model of bio surveillance report system in country level and regional level;

Success to set SMS local gateway for service the local group, 5. Collect the comments of using GeoChat in a field;

GeoChat Workshop in Mukdahan Lessons learned and future direction 1. GeoChat has to have the local support unit for implement in each country or regional for convenient to the user groups such as MBDS. 2. GeoChat have to do more field test for ensure of utilization in the region. 3. In the pilot stage have to select the active local users for test and put the comments for the system such as Mukdahan and Savarnakhet. 4. Connect the SMS report to the exist databases and ICT system of MBDS in the future. 5. Add more steak holder for report i.e. local media, citizen journalists;
