CLASS REQUIREMENTS Teen Health. Course 3. Students will comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance health. Students will analyze the influence of family, peers, culture, media, technology, and other factors on health behaviors. Students will also demonstrate the ability to access valid information and products and services to enhance health. Students will also demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to enhance health and avoid or reduce health risks. Students will demonstrate the ability to use decision – making skills to enhance health. Students will demonstrate the ability to use goal setting skills to enhance health. Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health – enhancing behaviors and avoid or reduce health risks. Students will demonstrate the ability to advocate for personal, family, and community health. Every nine weeks we will cover at least 2 or maybe 3 Chapters from the text book. Every nine week grading period students will have to do a project which will be due at the end of the nine week grading period. This will start from the 2nd nine week grading period all the way up to the 4th nine week grading period. Students will have at least 7 weeks to complete the project that will be assigned during that nine week grading period. Grading Scale. Tests. 25 % Quizzes. 20% Classwork / Projects. 40% Homework. 15% Textbooks. Personal Finance Book. Pen, Pencil and Loose Leaf Paper. USB Flash Drive

TESTING DATES Every nine week grading period I will administer 4 Quizzes and 2 Tests. These quizzes and Tests will all come from the text book. I will give the students a Review Sheet which I will post up on Edmodo or on my Slam Web page from school. This will assist and help students to better prepare for their Quizzes and Tests.
