Enhancements and Modifications based on the following: Over 60 Classroom Teachers collaboration Multiple Meetings Throughout the Year Hundreds of Student Artifacts Extremely Valuable Feedback!

Grade 3 – With guidance and support from adults, use technology to produce and publish writing (using keyboarding skills)… Grade 4 – With support from adults, use technology… to produce and publish writing…; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of one page in a single sitting. Grade 5 – With support from adults, use technology… to produce and publish writing…; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of two pages in a single sitting. Grade 6 - Use technology… to produce and publish writing…; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of three pages in a single sitting.

Calculating Words Per Minute on 5 Minute Write and Single Sitting Grade 3 (3.OA.A.3) Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems… Grade 4 (4.OA.A.2) Multiply or divide to solve word problems … Grade 5 (5.NBT.B.6) Find whole-number quotients of whole numbers with up to four-digit dividends and two-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models. Grade 6 (6.NS.B.2) Fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.

1.1.2 Grades 3-6 –Use models and simulations to explore systems, identify trends and forecast possibilities. (Add complexity by having students create their own graphs for interpretation rather than using the pre-created.) 2.2 Grades 3 – 6: –Meet keyboarding proficiency standards; use… online keyboarding programs –Use online keyboarding programs to increase speed and accuracy.

Artifacts from our Cohort

Fall: In the fall I was terrible at keyboarding. I did not know where almost all the letters were so it took me a few minutes to find a letter. I had no clue where the P was. It was really hard. I always pecked. Mid-year: I still kind of did not know where all the letters were. I did not know where the q, w, z, x, y, v, t, r were. I kind of knew where the P was. I kind of pecked. Present Day: Today I have found q, w, z, x, y, v, t, r and I know exactly where the P is. Most of the time I keep my hands on the home keys. I still do not know what all the keys mean like Ctrl or Alt. Artifacts from our Cohort
