1970’s Films A look at films made in the 1970s that are still popular today

Contents Introduction Plan Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Star Wars Superman Conclusion

Introduction For my 1970’s project I am looking at the following 3 films which where made in the 70s but are still popular today. – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – Star Wars – Superman This will be in the order they were made. I chose these films because I really enjoy watching them.

Plan For each film I will be writing about the following: —The Producer. —Year it came out. —Why I chose it. —Why it is still popular.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory This film was produced by Mel Stuart. Mel produced this film when he was 44, but he died this year aged 83. This film came out in 1971 and starred Gene Hackman. The film was remade in 2005 a year after I was born and was renamed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and starred Jonny Depp. I remember my Dad reading me the book by Roald Dahl and I really enjoyed it. I have watched both films but I prefer the second version. This film is still popular now because it is a really good film and people enjoy all the imagination that went into the story. Both adults and kids enjoy the film.

Star Wars Star Wars was produced by George Lucas. He made 6 Star Wars films as well as lots of other films. This is a time line of when all the Star Wars films came out: 1977 Star Wars IV A New Hope 1980 Star Wars V The Empire Strikes Back 1983 Start Wars VI Return of the Jedi 1999 Star Wars I The Phantom Menace 2002 Star Wars II Attack of the Clones 2005 Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith Fact - as you can see George Lucas started with number IV and it was only 1999 when George started on the first Star wars.

Star Wars continued I chose this film because it is a very adventurous film with some very cool people in it. My favourite character is Yoda. This film is still popular now because George Lucas kept on making films and they got more exciting every time.

Conclusion Although I like all 3 films, Star Wars is my favourite. Revenge of the Sith is my favourite Star Wars Film because it is when Anakin turns into Darth Vader. I have some Star Wars Lego which I love to play with and I have a Star Wars advent calendar which is really cool. What is your favourite film from the 1970s?
