Investors in Pupils Involvement in Investors in Pupils provides excellent evidence of the contribution a school is making to the five outcomes of Every Child Matters and Inclusion Within AFL, SEAL and ECM there is an emphasis on listening to ‘pupil voice’. IIPs actively engages pupils in the ownership of the school and their learning.

Each classroom has visible information to include all 5 areas ; Learning Behaviour Induction Attendance Classroom management/responsibilities

Why Schools become involved in IiP Something which can become embedded in good school practice. Emphasis on valuing all pupils Reinforces the ethos of our school Many areas already in place High expectations of everyone in school Recognises what we do in school Developed and refined to meet the needs of our changing population.

IiP should Impact on; Attendance – – Improved attendance through incentives such as awards for full half term attendance at school Behaviour – –Where schools have fully embraced the principles and practice of initiatives such as IiP, SEAL & have a positive behaviour policy, staff have noticed that there have been noticeable changes/further improvements in pupil behaviour and commitment to learning.

Impact Induction- – Induction books and DVDs help children to feel confident & raise self esteem – transition from Primary- Secondary – new pupils to settle, – new adult helpers, – supply teachers. Classroom management- – helps with economic well- being – spending money wisely – how important it is to look after things in the classroom – looking after each other through the class promise

The 5 key areas of IiP have a positive impact on the personal development & well- being in many ways: Learning- –IiP children become better learners through – –targets, both individual & class, decided by the children, allows them to be involved with their own learning.
