Attendance, tardies and dismissal School starts promptly at 8:45 Drop off is from 8:20-8:40 on the blacktop. Please encourage your child to use the restroom at this time and to bring a book or sight word flashcards to review. All notes for absences and tardies should go to the office School dismisses at 3:15 and students will be dismissed by me on the playground on #16 Please help your child remember to say goodbye to me with a “high 5” when you pick him or her up

Homework Assigned and collected on Wednesday Purple folder should come to school daily Homework in first grade is not independent; support your child in doing homework, but let it be his or her own Reading is a required part of homework and should be recorded on weekly reading log Home Reading Program-Goal is 500 pages a month
Birthday and Party Policy District “no sweets” policy Other ideas: donate a class book, game or art supplies, read to the class, give individual, non- edible treat (pencil, stickers etc) We will have two parties, one before Winter Break and one at the end of the year which is our First Grade Picnic
Conferences and Report Cards December 10 th -December 18 th but I may contact you sooner to discuss your child’s progress 3 report cards given (December, March, June)
Ways to Help Volunteering in the classroom: -must complete a volunteer application including a tb test and fingerprinting -Workshop (Tu/Th 10:20-11:50) & Computer Lab (Mon 1:45-2:25) Volunteering for El Rincon -Growing Great Program & SuccessMaker (before and after school) Volunteering at home Donating school and classroom supplies Reinforce learning at home!
