What is ? , or electronic mail, is a method of exchanging digital messages from an author to one or more recipients These messages can include multiple pieces of information and are fully customizable It’s just like writing a letter… but on the computer!

Popular FREE Websites Hotmail Gmail Yahoo! Mail

All you need to SIGN UP To sign up for all that is required is a USERNAME and PASSWORD. Several popular ISPs (Internet Service Providers) also provide free services through them. Eg) Telus, Shaw, etc…

Username/Pass Username: The name of your address: eg) Password: Varies from site to site but generally 6-12 characters long and is chosen by YOU!

What else can it do? In addition to sending and receiving messages… You can send pictures, videos, urls, internet links, etc… Set up accounts for subscriber services including Adobe Digital Editions (for eBooks) – Adobe ID Keep in touch with friends and family… and MORE!

Each Website Has a limited amount of memory (space available) for messages incoming or outgoing – think of this like a limited size for your online mailbox Has specific features to expand your experience including…

Spam Blockers – Block unwanted from unknown addresses or people you don’t wish to receive mail from! Create an Address Book that keeps track of your favourite people to send messages to – then you don’t have to enter their each time!

Contacts – Allows you to keep track of who you’ve sent to before in case you have need to send another! Folders – Easily organize your s, recipes, photos into folders almost like a filing cabinet! Schedule Tasks & Events – Basically a Calendar!

Some Terms Compose: To begin writing an CC: Carbon Copy – makes a copy to send to more than 1 person (can be any number) – copy is the same as the original! BCC: Blind Carbon Copy – Same as a CC but none of the recipients can see the others!

Now that we’ve had an Introduction… Let’s take a look at an actual ! If anyone doesn’t have an currently, you can volunteer and we’ll set you one up! It only takes a minute… let’s get to it!
