FOURTH COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT RATIFICATION MEETING JULY, 2015 COLLEGE OF LAKE COUNTY ADJUNCT FACULTY ORGANIZATION

BARGAINING TEAM Marilyn Sarich, President – Adult Education John Carobine, Vice-President – Adult Education Brian Smith, Treasurer – Com Arts Mac Urban, Secretary – Com Arts Matthew LaPierre -Business Agent, Lake County Federation of Teachers Observers:  Andrew Sagartz – Business  Byron Wigodner - Business

Article 1 Dual credit teachers must sign CLC teaching assignment contract for service to accrue for entry into the bargaining unit HR will note as “inactive” teachers who have not taught for 2 consecutive semesters – internal housekeeping; does not affect break in service

Article 2 “Grandfathered” status eliminated (hired before Fall 2006); adjunct faculty with this designation will now pay fair share dues Union Officers’ Leave increased from 4 days to 5 Payments to President, to be distributed among officers, for contract administration:  : $3800  : $3900  : $4000  : $4100

Article 3 “Orientation” now called “In-Service”  Option for attendance at In-Service meetings:  Attend Wednesday Division meeting held the week before semester begins (August 19 th )  Must notify Dean of intent by previous Friday (for Fall, 2015 this is August 14 th ; space may be an issue)  Dean must give approval if notified after Friday in order for attendance to count as In-Service obligation  NB: Division meetings are often longer than In- Service meetings; content may differ; no extra compensation

Article 3, continued Substitute pay increases from $45 to $50/hour in Professional Development Benefit Tiers:  New Tier 1 (Bargaining Unit adjuncts): 3-6 semesters: $500  Tier 2: 7-11 semesters: $750 (from $500)  Tier 3: semesters: $1000 (from $750)  Tier 4: 18+ semesters: $1250 (from $1000)

Article 4 Stipends:  Stacked Classes: $150 from $100  Withdrawn Assignments: $85 first credit hour/$45 next (from $80/$40)  Withdrawn Assignment stipend paid if cancellation of subsequent identical sections takes adjunct below 3 credit hours NEW: If enrollment in an alternate delivery class exceeds class caps, additional load is calculated and paid.

Article 4, continued Assignment of Sections – New Due Dates  APFs: Spring 2016 due by Friday of third week of Fall 2015: September 11 th ( Old date: October 15 th ) Fall 2016 due by Friday of third week of Spring 2016: February 5 th ( Old date: Friday after spring break)  OFFERS: Spring 2016 due no later than Friday of tenth week of Fall 2016 October 30 th (Old date: Last day of finals week) Fall 2016 due no later than Friday of tenth week of Spring 2016 March 25 th (Old date:1 st Monday of summer school)

Article 5 Intellectual Property  Jointly owned by adjunct faculty member and Board, to be licensed and owned under “Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivatives Creative Commons” license or an “Attribution- Non-Commercial Share Alike Creative Commons” license.  Same agreement with Full-Time Faculty  Creates lower costs for students Adjunct Responsibilities  Expanded to include: being prepared and meeting sections and labs at scheduled times; compliance with publicized college, divisional and departmental policies and procedures

Article 6 Personal Leave – New Tiers  Semesters 1 – 9: 1 day each semester (no summer)  Semesters 10 – 17: 1 day each semester (no summer) plus one floater  Semesters 18+: 2 days each semester (no summer) Bereavement Leave  Addition of “grandparent”
