IEEE Student Activities Mission To provide undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in IEEE designated fields of Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Mathematics, and Technical Communication, Education, Management, Law, and Policy and related professions with opportunities for educational, technical and professional development, emphasizing the value of continuing IEEE membership.

Student Members – IEEEs Future Within the ten IEEE Regions and 300 Sections, there are over 1,300 IEEE Student Branches established at universities and colleges worldwide, 345 Student Branch Chapters, 36 Women In Engineering Student Branch Affinity Groups. Through these student organizations, promote the value of IEEE membership, membership development opportunities: young, bright, energetic, enthusiastic students new ideas for Section activities & future leaders the value of continuing IEEE membership

Student Branch Activities Student Branches and Sections should organize activities together Section can use university campus facilities, have a technical or financial planning seminar with the Student Branch Many Regions work a Student Branch to host a joint leadership conference or meeting Sections, GOLD Affinity Groups and Student Branches should plan a welcome event for graduating students in the spring and the fall

RENEWALS and NEW APPLICATIONS For the membership years, students are required to join and renew online Students can join IEEE online with a credit card Instant access to online services with an IEEE web account Students can self-certify that they qualify for IEEE student membership. Improved data integrity since the Student enters his/her information directly. No re-keying of data is required. l Print and Mail with Payment option available for sending an application with other forms of payment, such as a check or money order. l Student Branches and Sections have adapted well to the new policy
