Highly motivated incoming students who * want to focus on academics. * have committed parental support. Prospective students must * apply and be accepted to the program. * meet Lone Star testing requirements. CCHS will provide support to students preparing for the TSI exam. Who should apply?

What are the benefits? Academic rigor Savings in time Reduced tuition Supportive environment throughout High School to begin a college experience. Students will have the opportunity to earn 60 college credit hours of coursework by the time they graduate from High School

How Do I Apply? CCHS Accelerated College Application Process Complete the Parent & Student Statement Forms Obtain recommendations from your current English teacher, Math teacher, and Counselor Return complete application packet to your counselor or to Mrs. Horn at CCHS NO LATER THAN 3:00 PM ON FRIDAY MAY 15. All documents must be included. After acceptance to the program - Fall 2015 Apply to Lone Star College Take TSI exam

Reminders Begin the application process early Give your teachers and counselor time to complete their recommendations. Application deadline: 3:00 PM FRIDAY, MAY 15, Application should be submitted to your counselor at Moorhead or delivered to Mrs. Horn at CCHS.

Why Should I Consider Accelerated College? Begin your college experience while in high school. Save time and money by taking Dual Credit courses at a reduced tuition price. Have individual and group support to assist with success in the program. Earn 60 college credit hours by the time your graduate from high school. Begin your professional career years earlier than you would with a traditional educational pathway.

Other Considerations What is really important to you? High GPA and/or class rank Participation in sports, band, and/or other clubs & organizations What are your plans beyond high school? Attend a private college Live at home and commute to college Transfer to prestigious university outside of Texas How mature are you? If your earns an Associate Degree while in high school – you will be transferring to a university at age 18 and attending classes with students two or more years older.

What are the Costs? Dual Credit classes at CCHS $ 66 for 3 credit hours (1 course) $120 for 6 credit hours (2 courses) Books Lone Star credit only $212 for 3 credit hours $392 for 6 credit hours Books
