Committee Charge The University Calendar Committee reviewed a proposal to institute three new intersession schedules for – January Intersession (To begin in January 2014) – May Intersession (To begin in May 2013) – August Intersession (To begin in August 2013)

Guiding Principles (January) Will start no sooner than January 2 Minimum number of class days will be eight with one additional day for final exams and the maximum ten with one additional day for final exams Classes will be scheduled on Sunday only if it is necessary to fulfill the minimum number of class days Ten day sessions – 5 hour class periods for four credit classes – 3 hour, 45 minute class periods for three credit classes – 2 hour, 30 minute class periods for two credit classes – 1 hour, 15 minute class period for one credit classes (approx. 4 hours for labs) Nine day sessions – 5 hour, 35 minute class periods for four credit classes – 4 hour, 20 minute class periods for three credit classes – 2 hour, 50 minute class periods for two credit classes – 1 hour, 25 minute class periods for one credit classes (approx. 4.5 hours for labs)
