5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self- control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 2 peter 1.5-7

8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. 2 peter 1.8-9

10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. 2 peter 1.10

joy should be a basic reality in the christian life.

jesus promised grief would turn to joy.

the source of our joy is jesus!

can you see God at work in your life during times past?

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. romans 8.28

during difficult times, where was your focus?

happiness is a choice.

we can look at our present circumstances and rejoice.

life life with extreme confidence in God!

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, philippians 2.12

13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. philippians 2.13

God does not look for perfect people in whom to work.
