AAny Italics are someone talking.

Land and Climate  Turkey is just larger than Texas.  Turkey is 302,533 square miles.  Winters are colder in some parts.  Winters are mild along the coast.

Population  Turkey has about 79,700,000 people.  It is growing by 1.2%.  About 70 million live in urban areas.

Economy  Turkey relies mostly on agriculture.  They grow cotton, tobacco, citrus fruits, olives, nuts, live stock, and opium.  They also mine copper, coal, and boron.  Turkey gets oil from the Caspian Sea.

Language  Turkish is the official language.  Arabic is also spoken.  English is the most popular foreign. language and is required in secondary school.

Food and Eating  Breakfast is usually around 7:00 am.  We eat with the forks on the left and knives on the right hand.  Some food we eat are with our hands.  Seafood is abundant along the coast.

Interview Time!! WWhat is your most common food? WWell it is lamb and rice and they are usually served with most meals. WWhat do want to do when you grow up? II will be a miner just like daddy. He mines copper. WWhat is your language that you study? WWell in school I study Turkish and also English.

Entertainment  We play soccer at grass field over there.  Skiing is in the mountains.  You can surf on the coast of Turkey.  People can dine, watch T.V, and relax.

Entertainment – Continued  We can go out with friends and watch movies.  Chess, Checkers, and card games are also played.  Theater is also a good pastime in Turkey.
