WHAT CAN YOU DO? As an individual: Be familiar with the symptoms of mental health conditions As a loved one: Offer to support an individual’s self-advocacy As a community: Be familiar with the resources in your community
TIPS FROM STUDENTS who have a mental health condition Don’t ignore a student who is depressed or has mental health conditions. Let them know you care; help them to update missing assignments; set up extra study time. Be aware of changes in medication as well as behaviours. Understand that they may not accept your help given the severity of their illness. (Madison, A. 2008) Property of Linea Cinda & Associates
