What is FBLA? Largest student-run business organization in the world with over 200,000 members. Service, Education, Progress. Program of Work: service-oriented competitions created by the NYS State Officer Team to be completed by chapters for recognition/awards. Competitive Events: Business-related competitions at State Leadership Conference in April. Testing or presentation based events like Personal Finance, Global Business, Job Interview, etc. Place top 3 and earn the chance to compete at the National Leadership Conference. Learn about business, improve your leadership skills, network with students from across the nation.

About Williamsville East FBLA Last year’s largest delegation to the State Leadership Conference, bringing home over 30 competitive event awards. Largest chapter in District 12, the area encompassing Western New York. This July, 23 members attended the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN. 7 earned national recognition in competitive events. Three state officers: State Vice President, Secretary, Parliamentarian.

FALL DISTRICT MEETING Held Thursday, October Williamsville East from 4:30PM-8:30PM. Network with FBLA members from other schools, attend business-related workshops, compete in Battle of the Best trivia event. Keynote speaker: Steven Meyer, NYS Assembly 146 th District Candidate Most important district event! Last year, nearly 100 students and advisers from across Western New York attended. DINNER FROM CHIPOTLE!

2013 FDM

FDM cont. FDM registration fee: $12 per member. Cash or check made out to WEHS FBLA. Fill out FBLA Code of Conduct and dinner order form. FORMS AND FEE DUE TO MS. ANZALONE NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 7 TH. All members are highly encouraged to attend FDM!

A Look Ahead Spring District Meeting January 24 th, Bryant & Stratton College, Amherst Campus. District elimination events, state officer candidate examination. State Leadership Conference April Rochester Radisson Riverside Convention Center and Hotel. Competitive events, workshops, state awards ceremony, state officer elections, general sessions. Network with over 600 students from across the state!

How to get involved Attend the Fall District Meeting. Recruit new members! Participate in upcoming Program of Work activities. We will begin competitive event assignments in December. Help out with fundraisers like flower sales and working in the Commons Café. Business Achievement Awards Our goal: NYS Chapter of the Year!
