IEEE Standards Interest Group for India Initiative from IEEE Bangalore section execom (Pamela Kumar) with support from IEEE-SA This initiative started in May 2010 Sri accepted to chair this interest group to drive the standards initiative for India

Blog & Member Feedback Process Worked with IEEE-SA (Chris Vigil) to setup a blog website to seek feedback from members for this initiative Blog published on 1 st July and open for 3 weeks Received close to 50 responses Blog sought questions related to areas of interest, experience with standards development & request for volunteering in this initiative Based on feedback & experience, identified key domain/focus areas Worked with identified people to initiate formation of core team for this initiative

IEEE SIG Focus Areas & Core Team Identified key domains that this SIG will drive (initially) IEEE SIG Chair (Sri Chandra) Software/IT (Arjuna Rao Chavala) Telecom, wireless & computer networking (Syam Madanapalli, Anand M) Semiconductor/EDA/VLSI (Srinivasan Venkatraman) Driving standards in Education (Rahul Sinha) Power Electronics, Energy Efficiency (under discussion) IEEE list servers have been set up for each of the core areas with help of IEEE-SA Volunteers/members are requested to register SIG India Kickoff event planned for 2 nd Dec 2010
