The Return to Re-embracing Our Redemption

 BY CONSIDERING THE PARABLE OF NARNIA, WE CAN DISCOVER CRITICAL TRUTHS ABOUT OUR REDEMPTION STORY.

Parables...are comparison stories. Using parables to teach is not new. 2 Sam 12:1-4 The LORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, "There were two men in a certain town,...

Parables...are comparison stories. Jesus taught in parables. Mark 4:33-34 With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. 34 He did not say anything to them without using a parable.... NIV

Parables...are comparison stories. Parables teach us something about life, the kingdom of God, or the Forgiver. Matt 13:35... "I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world."

Parables...are comparison stories. Parables are simple stories but they demand engagement. Mark 4:10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. NIV

Parables...are comparison stories. The elements of the story are not the critical truth. In Matthew 13 eight different parables about what the kingdom heaven is like

Parables...are comparison stories. Our interaction with the story leads to the critical truth.

Narnia as a Parable The White Witch --represents evil and has cast a spell over Narnia, turning it into perpetual winter.

Narnia as a Parable Aslan is the lion and represents Jesus.

Narnia as a Parable The four children Peter, Edmund, Lucy and Susan are brother and sisters. They represent all of humanity.

Narnia as a Parable The Wardrobe allows them to enter Narnia.

What to Expect To engage the power of parables. To draw parallels to our lives through scripture. To reaffirm or discover truths about life, the kingdom of God and Jesus the great forgiver.

What to Expect To understand the story of our redemption through the work of Jesus Christ in a deepening way. To be challenged to invite others to join you in that discovery.

 BY CONSIDERING THE PARABLE OF NARNIA, WE CAN DISCOVER CRITICAL TRUTHS ABOUT OUR REDEMPTION STORY.

The Narnia Challenge  Use the Notebooks to enhance your experience.  Begin to work your lighthouse network.  Talk about your discoveries with others.
