What is e-Membership? Everything that IEEE membership currently offers But no paper –Electronic acknowledgement pack and membership card –Electronic versions of print publications (Spectrum, The Institute) –Electronic renewal invoices Reduced annual base dues rate of $50 2 Slide 2

Who is eligible for e-Membership? Current and prospective IEEE members who reside in countries where the per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is $15,000 or less –As defined by the United Nations guidelines. –We take a 3-year average. –Currently affects 153 countries. Higher-grade membership only –Students not eligible –Special Circumstance discounts cant be applied to e-Membership Slide 3

Pricing Regional assessments will be charged with e- Membership the same as with Traditional –$50 base dues –$13 assessment in R8 –$4 in R9 –$5 in R10 –$2 in Jamaica Post-join or renew changes to membership type will be allowed in certain cases, but must be done thru the Contact Center (see chart next slide) 4 Slide 4

Business Rules e-Members will have full voting rights, and will receive voting materials electronically. e-Members will receive full consideration for grade elevation (e.g. Senior Member, Fellow, etc) –Years of service will count towards life membership. e-Members will be able to join any society they choose, at whatever pricing the society has available. –Special Circumstances can be claimed on Society memberships even when e-Membership is also selected. 5 Slide 5

Business Rules (cont) Students and GSMs are not eligible for e- Membership. Eligible HG members in these countries are not required to take e-Membership. Eligible HG members cannot claim Special Circumstances when they choose the e- Membership option. –Special Circumstances can still be applied to any additional Society memberships though. We will offer ½ year dues pricing for e- Membership. –$25 after 1 March Slide 6
