M. Greene4 The Clover St. Patrick used a three-leaf clover to explain the Trinity to the pagans of Ireland. Today, many people wear clovers, or shamrocks, to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day

M. Greene5 Kissing the Blarney Stone The Blarney Stone is located at the Blarney Castle in County Cork, Ireland. You have to lie on your back and bend backward and downward to kiss the stone. It is supposed to bring you good luck. Legend says that the stone has magical powers because an old woman cast a spell on it.

M. Greene6 Leprechauns Leprechauns are small Irish fairies, only about 2 feet tall. They are said to be unsociable. They dress like shoemakers with pointy hats and shoes. Leprechauns are also said to have a pot of gold. You have to listen for the sound of their hammer to catch one, but they are tricky. If you look away, they will disappear.
