Strategy refresh – highlights and issues Overall life expectancy is good, death rates are low and falling Increasingly older population - more people with limiting long-term illness or disability Lifestyle factors mostly good compared to England but some still moving in the wrong direction Inequalities – continued gap in health outcomes between wealthy and poorest groups

Bournemouth and Poole Health and Wellbeing Strategy Major Change Programmes Developing a cross agency understanding on the causes of health inequalities and how to tackle them; Early intervention and support for preschool children and their families to avoid ill-health and poor outcomes in later years; Developing a holistic approach to supporting lifestyle changes; Improving mental wellbeing; Working better together for children with special educational needs, disabilities and acute medical needs; Integrated health and social care for people with long term conditions including Dementia.
