Main characters There are two main characters named Andi and Bruce. Andi is an 11 year old girl with brown curly hair. She is a kind girl who likes to write poetry and loves dogs. Bruce is a 10 year old boy who is also very smart. He built the machines to let the dogs eat, play, and move the garbage to the garbage area at the side of the hotel. Andi and Bruce are brother and sister who work as a team to make the dog hotel work. Andi and Bruce don’t have parents and live with their foster parents. They are friends with the social worker named Bernie. Andi and Bruce hope that Bernie can find them a permanent home.

Setting 2 The setting changed several times. First they were at Andi and Bruce’s house. Then they went to the hotel with dog food. They had to go to the pet store to get more food and supplies. Some of the story took place at Andi’s school. Most of the story happened at the hotel for dogs.

Plot Andi and Bruce have always wanted a dog. They could never have one because they live in a foster home. When they find Friday, a Jack Russell terrier, they start to take care of him. One day Friday was wandering around and found an abandoned hotel. Andi and Bruce make plans to use the hotel and save stray dogs. They have help from Dave, Heather, and Mark. Mark works at the grocery store. Dave and Heather work at a pet store. It was not long before the secret was out. The dogs had to go to the pound and Andi and Bruce were separated.
