Finding A Job

Finding a job IS a FULL Time job!

Networking is a great way to find a job! Talk to people. Let people know you are looking for a job! Tell everyone!

What are some ways to find a job? Create a strong personal brand when using Facebook and other sites. Look professional! Have a good image! Connect with your contacts (network). Find job listings (use all available resources). Create a list of companies that you would like to work for. Research them and apply! Spend time developing a good resume and cover letter.

Know Yourself! If you need more skills or training, get it!

Do a good job when completing the job application! Don’t leave anything blank (complete it all). Write clearly and neatly. Check for spelling and grammar mistakes. List your most recent education first. List your most recent job first. Don’t forget to sign your application!

Make an awesome resume! Use headings that match the job you are applying for Use a design that grabs the attention. Create content that sells! (Use good descriptions.) Use power verbs (examples: directed and trained) Identify the hidden needs of employers (things they don’t necessarily include in the ad) Sell the benefits of your skills. Explain how your skills will be helpful on that job!
