What can I do? What am I qualified for? What fields can I work in? Is there a demand for my talents? What if there is nothing in my field?

Where do I look? College Placement Services Internet – Monster.com, LinkedIn.com, careerbuilder.com, craigslist.org, hotjobs.yahoo.com, indeed.com etc. Want Ads – Newspaper Trade Papers and Magazines Texas Workforce Commission

What do I need? Up-to-date Resume Completed Application Personal References College Transcripts Copies of all licenses and certificates Hopefully – an Interview

Things to Consider You most likely will not start out at the top. Most upper level jobs require experience – YOU HAVE NONE. You may have to work a job in a related field at first. Plan to continue your education/training. Every job is important – even minimum wage or temporary jobs. Always do your very best – make yourself indispensable. Sometimes you have to move sideways to move up. Do your best to get along with ALL of your coworkers. Beware of Social Media – Don’t post things your boss shouldn’t see.

Needed in your portfolio Resume Completed Job Application Completed W-4 and I-9 forms Copy of the actual job listing you are applying for Physical location of your job Picture of your job location (if available)
