Unpack and make sure you have your supplies ready(notebook, binder, pencils) Hand in any homework. Do Now: You will be assigned a page from the Asia book. On your card, write down two facts from the page and one “false fact or opinion”. We will be sharing them at Morning Meeting.

Remember, you can if you think you can. How many times have you said, “I can’t do it!”? Make a list of as many things that you can think of that you can do. For example, I can make friends easily. I can read books about _________________. I can write stories. I can solve math problems. I can hit the ball and make a home run. I can pitch. I can get a goal. I can play the piano. I can sing in the chorus. I can play an instrument.” Next, make a list of things that you “think you can’t do and want to be able to do”. Next to each of them, think of one way that you can begin to meet this goal.

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships." Michael Jordan In your Writers Notebook, write what you think this quotation means. Next, give an example of when you used teamwork. Last, write your own quotation about teamwork.

" Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton was the one who asked why." Bernard M. Baruch This quotation tells us that we need to challenge ourselves to ask questions about life, things that are, things that will be in the future. What are some burning questions that you have? Make a list of at least eight questions that you have. For example, my questions are: Why do people park in handicapped spots? What happens to balloons after they float into space? Why do people think that a symbol for teachers is an apple?
