What words do we ALWAYS need to capitalize?

We capitalize PROPER NOUNS!

What are Proper Nouns? It’s actually quite simple. Proper nouns are SPECIFIC people, places & things.

EXAMPLES OF PROPER NOUNS: Names- real people & characters Titles for people- Dr. Jones, Professor Smith, Aunt Maria, Uncle Mike, Grandma Sue Countries, states, counties, cities, towns, continents, oceans, rivers, planets Specific buildings, landmarks, specific parks, specific zoos, stadiums, museums, restaurants

EXAMPLES OF PROPER NOUNS (CONT): Months, days of the week, Titles of books, magazines, short stories, movies, newspapers, articles, song titles, band names, etc… Brand names, sports teams, stores, Street names specific animal species (Silver Back Gorilla) Abbreviations (NJ, Dr. Mr. Mrs., Prof.)
