Ms. Garcia Room:

For being part of your child’s learning. To ensure maximum success for your child, it is important that we maintain an open line of communication Our goal: to fulfill the needs of your childs education

 School begins promptly at 8:20 and continues until 3:00 (with the implementation of callback)  Please continue to provide the support needed for your child to attend school and to arrive to his/her homeroom on time.  If your child cannot come to school please send a note with him/her explaining the absence.  Your child is responsible to make up all work missed during tardiness or absences.

 To enhance your child’s learning environment, we will be using interactive whiteboards (ENO board)  Students will use Castle Learning ( to complete assignments and as a study tool.  You can find your child’s homework and project assignments our class pages found at

 Along with the four core subjects (ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies) your child has other opportunities to be academically and socially supported.  Each day, as part of period 4, your child has a supervisory program.  Monday- Town Hall  Tuesday: DEAR  Wednesday: Walking Wednesday  Thursday: Thinking Thursday  Friday: Fun Friday

 This is another academically based opportunity that your child has each day.  All teachers are available from 2:40pm-3:00 pm to allow any student needing assistance with class or homework to interact with the teacher in a small group setting.  Your child can do his/her homework, study, practice content, complete missed homework assignment or project.

 If your child is participating in LEAP, they will automatically be required to attend a callback each LEAP day.  LEAP is on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-6pm and runs from 10/1 until May.  This is our afterschool program which provides your child with opportunities to both attain academic support, as well as participate in inspiring activities. Some activities include sports, art, law enforcement, engineering, drama, dance, music, etc.  For more information you may call the LEAP office at ext 2122
