Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Are You Helping Or Making It Worse?????

Compassion You stay up for 16 hours. They stay up for days on end.

No Shower You take a warm shower to help you wake up. They go days or weeks without running water.

Moving Forward You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. They get shot at as others are hit, and they keep moving forward.

Death Your safe at home. They aren’t even sure if they’ll ever see home again.

Blood Spill You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you. They know they may never see some of their buddies ever again.

Protestors You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. They still fight for your rights to wear that shirt.

Resting You complain about how hot it is. They wear their heavy gear, not daring to take off their helmets to wipe their brow.

Thinking You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. They don't get to eat today.

Cleaning Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. They wear the same things for weeks, but make sure their weapons are clean.

Running You go to the mall and get your hair redone. They don't have time to brush their teeth today.

Angry You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. They’re told they will be held over an extra 2 months.

Upset You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. They hold their letters close and smell their loved- one's scent.

Agonizing You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

Loved You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. They see the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and then they remember why they are fighting in the first place.

Not So Funny You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men & women serving. They hear the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

Heart Broken You see only what the media wants you to see. They see the broken bodies lying around them. Especially bodies of the young.

Dedicated You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. They do exactly what they’re told even if it puts their life in danger.

Tired You stay at home and watch TV. They take whatever time they are given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

Alert You sit around waiting for something to happen. They are alert and going 24/7.

This Is Not THE END Support Your Troops & Your Veterans & Your Local Units!!
