DESIGNER LAMP FIXTURE CATHERINE ANDERSON MADELEINE MERCK ARC 363 SPRING 2015
1 ST STAGE: WE DESIGNED ORGANIC SHAPES IN RHINO TO BEGIN CREATING A LAMP SHAPE THAT WOULD BE UNIQUE IN ANY GIVEN SPACE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME ALLOW FOR LIGHT TO EMIT AND MAKE A COLLAGE OF SHADOWS ON THE WALL
2ND STAGE: WE MOVED INTO SKETCHUP TO START DESIGNING OUR OWN FIXTURE. WE WANTED A LAMP THAT WOULD EMIT A LOT OF LIGHT BUT WITH ITS SIMPLE GEOMETRY CREATE SOMEWHAT OF A COLLAGE ON THE WALL.
WE PUT TOGETHER SQUARES AND TRIANGLES TO CREATE A SOMEWHAT SPHERICAL SHAPE, BUT TO ALSO HAVE ENOUGH OPENINGS FOR LIGHT TO BE LET OUT AND CREATE SHADOWS.
3RD STAGE: WE BEGAN TESTING LIGHT AND LIGHT INTENSITY IN A ROOM, TO SEE HOW THE SHADOWS WORKED
LIGHT INTENSITY WAS NOT ENOUGH
