Synfig Studio “...That was the original idea from day one - the elimination of the tweening process. But it is certainly not the only feature of Synfig that makes it unique. In addition to eliminating the tweening process, I also wanted Synfig to be used for pretty much every part of production except story-boarding and editing.” Robert Quattlebaum - OSNews

What is Synfig Studio? Synfig is a powerful, industrial-strength, vector-based 2D animation software package, designed from the ground-up for producing feature-film quality animation with fewer people and resources.

 Synfig Studio is a free and open-source 2D animation software.  It can create film-quality animation using vector and bitmap artwork.  It eliminates the need to create animation frame-by frame, allowing you to produce 2D animation of a higher quality with fewer people and resources.  Synfig Studio is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS X.

Synfig Studio Features  Pixilation will not occur in the built-in components only foreign images.  Smooth motion  User friendly tools  Artist-oriented design  The software is capable of simulating soft-shading using curved gradients.

Layout

The Canvas The canvas is just like any other canvas used to place all objects and features on.

The Toolbar The toolbar is located at the side of the screen and is easily understood and user friendly.
