Additional Urban Areas Defined for State Amounts calculated using the same model as region – amounts not calculated for UASI cities Region amount is regional allocation plus urban allocation COG retains project discretion but must show that the value of the Urban Area award is used in the Urban area.

Projects Each Region and UASI area Should Have Priority Projects The project should include participating Jurisdictions and Disciplines Project Should have an estimated cost Creation of Regional and UASI Projects is not dependent upon a known funding amount Regional projects should support State and Regional Strategies UASI projects should support the UASI strategy

What is a Good Project? Develops or improves a capability May have one or many potential participants May have phases Supports the strategy

Allocating 2005 SHSGP to Jurisdictions Done by COGs based upon Projects Projects may be funded from more than one grant All regional allocations must be allocated and must be associated with a project COGs will enter allocations and projects on texasdpa and in the ISIP COGs create Initial Strategy Implementation Plan COGs may choose options for ISIP creation –100% Local Administrator Entry at COG –Creation of grant amounts at COG (Local Administrator) and details entered via Jurisdiction User Entry –Options may be selected on a jurisdiction by jurisdiction basis When part of the allocation Urban area allocation must benefit designated Urban Area

Allocating 2005 UASI Must be approved by Core Group in writing Must be project based Projects may combine UASI, SHSP, LETPP and CCP UASI=Urban Area Security Initiative SHSP=State Homeland Security Program LETPP=Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program CCP=Citizen Corps Program
