Antarctic research in Finland The main source for the Antarctic research funding is the Ministry of Education. This funding is distributed by the Academy of Finland. The funding is given to research projects in four year periods and the current projects are funded for the years

Finnish Antarctic Research Program The Finnish Antarctic Research Program (FINNARP) maintains the Finnish research station Aboa in Queen Maud Land and is also responsible for the logistics. FINNARP is situated at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. Photo: FINNARP

Data management In Finland there is no central national data centre for the Antarctic data. The data is stored at the research institutes and universities which are doing research there. Generally AMD is well appreciated in Finland, especially among younger researchers

Research projects during Aerosols and snow at the Antarctic coast and continental glacier,Finnish Meteorological Institute Aerosols and snow at the Antarctic coast and plateau, University of Helsinki The changing atmoshpere at the Antarctica, Finnish Meteorological Institute Evolution of snow cover and dynamics of atmospheric deposits in the snow in the Antarctica, University of Helsinki Dynamical evolution of Scharffenbergbotnen blue ice area since the Late Glacial Maximum, Arctic Centre

Research projects during Stable boundary layer, University of Helsinki Cenozoic East Antarctic Ice Sheet History from Wilkes Land Sediments, IODP Expedition IODP Excursion 322, University of Oulu The meteorology of the Antarctica and its interaction with the snow, ice and the sea, Finnish Meteorological Institute Crustal movemets in the Dronning Maud Land, Permanent GPS station and absolute gravity in base Aboa, Finnish Geodetic Institute
