JSS 2 CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ART TOPIC : BATIK Batik: Is the use of wax as resistance medium.Starch and “Eko” are also used at times in place of wax to make batik.Batik is an indonesian word. PRODUCTION PROCESS OF BATIK STEP 1: Put your candle wax on the fire to melt. STEP 2: Use the melted wax to create pattern on the cloth by using tjanting brush,stamp or stencil. STEP 3: Prepare your dye by mixing hydro- sulphite and caustic- soda together in a bucket and adding small quantity of water.

STEP 4: Put the cloth in the dye and turn it several times for the dye to touch all part of the cloth equally. Allow to remain inside the dye for a while. STEP 5: Remove the cloth and allow to dry. STEP 6: Remove the wax(de-wax) by putting the cloth inside boiling water, turn it for a while, remove and put it inside cold water. MATERIALS FOR PRODUCTION OF BATIk 1. Fabric 2.
