Construction Plan

Research  Research the target audience for our song and question them on what they want from our video  Find other music videos of the same genre and evaluate them. Suggest what worked and what didn’t work  Look and research at the conventions of the genre of the music video and digipak so we know what a video needs to include  Analyse other digipaks of the same genre  Look at the current video of our chosen song and analyse  Research the techniques used to produce any music video and the one we have chosen. Such as the type of camera and editing software  Research the use of lip-syncing  Research theories and how they are used within music videos

Planning  For our planning we need to produce initial ideas for the video and digipak. We need evaluate them to see if we have listened to our focus group and if they contain the conventions  List of camera shots  Produce a story board of our ideas  Design costumes and hair and make-up  Look for filming locations  Cast actors  Make a schedule for filming  Precise details of what and when we are doing things  Attempt to ask the artist for permission  Upload all to blogs Research and planning will also take a large part but I don’t think as much as construction. We have to understand what our target audience want and to ensure our ideas are clear. We hope to have finished this by Christmas as the research and planning is crucial to continue on to our construction.

Construction  Make drafts of our initial ideas for our digipak, music video and advertisement and ask for feedback from our original focus group  Check off what we have done and what is left to do  Film the music video and produce the digipak  Edit the music video  Make sure we are using the elements of mise-en-scene correctly  Make sure we are up to date with our schedule and if not, find ways to find our way around it so we are not behind  Ensure that all our products relate  Upload all our progress to blogs The filming and editing will take a much larger proportion of our time to make sure its of a high standard and quality.

Evaluation  Make sure we think of original ways to present our evaluations, not just through basic ways such as word or PowerPoint  Ensure the answers to the evaluation are in detail  Organise each persons role within the evaluation and how it will be presented
