Okay, name 4 levels of baby care professionals  Pediatric Aide  One yr college  Get a certificate from the American Pediatrics Assn. $10 hour  Pediatric Technician  2 yrs college  License and exam by State of Texas  $20 hour  Pediatric Nurse (RN)  Two yrs nursing school while in college, BSN optional  Competitive, State licensed by RN clex, $35/hr. for RN  Advanced pediatric training means specialty nurse $60/hr  Pediatrician  4 yrs college/4 med sch  State licensed,3 yr residency  High responsibility  $250/hr

 I’m an endocrinologist (gland doctor)  Treats a lot of diabetics, thyroid diseases, growth problems, fertility issues, sexual growth problems, cancers of glands,etc. 4yrs coll/4 yrs med sch, 3-5 yrs residency.

Guess what I do?  You see me for your hemmorrhoids!

 I’m a proctologist; physician with a 5 yr residency in rectal/colon diseases (talk about a narrow view of life, lol)  Does a lot of colonoscopy procedures to rule out colon cancer, lots of surgery to do,  Don’t’ shake hands with these folks

I’ll do an autopsy for (of) you  If you like CSI, I’m on the show

 I’m a pathologist; 3-5 yr residency and I’m best at autopsies and biopsies (dead things are my specialty but my patients never complain because I never get to talk to them). I like a good detective story and try to figure out the C.O.D. or if a tissue sample is benign or carcinoma

When there is a family crisis, I’m the one to call

 I’m a social worker; training is same as a psychologist; 4 yrs college and 1-3 yrs graduate school. Could have a masters or doctorate degree and hospitals keep me around when there is suspicion of child abuse, drug usage, ethanol dependency, or signs a family is coming apart. I’m a crisis consultant and a good listener with knowledge of solutions.

When it’s Zit City; who you gonna call?

 A dermatologist; I treat acne but also skin cancers, sun damage, hundreds of skin infections and even do surgery for biopsies, liposuction, facelifts, hair removal, wrinkle treatment, abscess draining, skin grafting for burns,etc.

Which medical workers have MBA degrees?

 Hospital administrators; these people enjoy the business of medicine, designing efficient hospitals for cost savings and quality control for patient care, safety and limiting liability. They hire/fire personnel via the human resources department and assure accurate prompt billing of patients and carriers. 4 yrs coll/ 3 yrs grad sch for Masters of Business Administration specializing in hospitals. $ ,000

What degree should I get if I want to do research?

 M.S. or Ph.D or Doctor of Philosophy in my field of interest i.e. biology, chemistry, genetics, cancer research, birth defect cures, fertility, new drugs, etc.  4 yrs college, 3-4 yrs graduate school  $ ,000

 The sky is the limit;  Think of a flea in a jar. Fleas are great leapers able to leap hundreds of times their own height. You jump a few times and crash into the lid and you learn the lid is there so it stops leaping assuming there is a lid. Dr. Ricken is saying, “you have no lids regardless of what anyone tells you. Leap as high as you wish!” wheeee!
