Grew up in Kirkland, WA. Graduated from Lake Washington HS I love talking about and watching sports, especially football. GO HUSKIES! GO SEAHAWKS! Went to UW for 2 Years before transferring to WSU Taught the last 3 years at Lynnwood, but am really excited to see what MTHS is all about! Just got engaged this summer and will be married next summer! I love animals and have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Well, it’s complicated…

Ms. Chapman’s PET PEEVES!!! TARDIES !!! (Plan on using the bathroom DURING the passing period) Listening to headphones during instruction & labs Using cell phones during class. Trust me, I can tell when you’re texting. Asking “What are we doing today?”. (Check the board! All assignments serve a purpose) Improper use of apostrophes, your vs. you’re, and their, there, and they’re. No, I’m not an English teacher, but please believe I care about written communication. GOT IT? If you want to be on my “good side”…don’t do any of the these!

1.What is your name? What do you like to be called? 2.What grade in school are you? 3.What extra-curricular activities are you involved in? 4.Why did you decide to take Chef 1? 5.How often do you cook at home? 6.Describe the most difficult recipe you have ever prepared. 7.If you had to eat one food for the next 30 meals straight- what would it be? 8.List any food allergies or foods that you don’t eat for religious/cultural reasons. 9.What is your “super-secret” skill? DONE? Turn it in up front!

If someone had the career goal to become a CHEF, what knowledge and skills would he/she need to know and be able to do? Be ready to share your answers!

1. Learn basic cooking techniques 2. Practice industry standards 3. Be exposed to new foods & cooking styles 4. Develop leadership and teamwork skills
