Pros: Movement & Sound: It has good graphics and the sound is good because it plays every move. It is easy to program it to move and make sound. Background & Sequencing: It was easy to put the background on the screen. It is easy to program the sequencing because the tool is clearly labeled. If the sequencing messes it is easy to fix the system. Movement & Sound: The movement is ok. If you make the smallest mistake, the object that you program to move flies across the screen and explodes. Background & Sequencing It was hard to find the background tool and then get backgrounds of animals and other background. It is easy to play Kodu on an Xbox controller. We could not control the sequencing when the Kodu killed us automatically. Cons:

We rated it 5 out of 5 because it is easy to find the buttons to build the materials are easy to find. This is because all buttons and materials are clearly labeled. The programming is extremely easy because the directions are not complex, they are short, simple, and to the point. Once the game is complete, it is a high quality game. On top of that, it is free.

Kodu is affective because it is easy for kids and grown ups to make good games quickly.

We think that we should use Kodu Game Lab again in the class. It is easy, fun, effective, and educational. It is simple enough for a third grader to use, but complex enough to make a quality game.

We do not think that game design will influence education in the future. Sure, you can make educational games, but it is still a video game. Video games keep kids from exercising and can potentially eliminate their attention spans.
