Providing Cost Effective And Reliable Gas Detection Solutions Since 1975

WHO IS INTERSCAN? We manufacture and sell toxic gas analyzers/monitors/detectors and related data-logging products exclusively We manufacture our own patented electrochemical voltametric sensors for 18 gases

Interscan manufactures sensors for these gases: bromine bromine carbon monoxide carbon monoxide chlorine chlorine chlorine dioxide chlorine dioxide ethylene ethylene ethylene oxide ethylene oxide formaldehyde formaldehyde hydrazine(s) hydrazine(s) hydrogen hydrogen hydrogen bromide hydrogen bromide hydrogen chloride hydrogen chloride hydrogen cyanide hydrogen cyanide hydrogen sulfide hydrogen sulfide nitric oxide nitric oxide nitrogen dioxide nitrogen dioxide ozone ozone propylene oxide propylene oxide sulfur dioxide sulfur dioxide

WHAT ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS? We manufacture toxic gas detectors, primarily used for compliance monitoring in the workplace Interscan does not manufacture confined space entry monitors (typified by hand-held “4-gas” monitors---- generally measuring CO and H 2 S as well as % LEL and O 2 deficiency) Interscan does not manufacture outdoor environmental (EPA equivalence or reference) monitors Although Interscan is certainly aware of other detection methods, since we manufacture electrochemical voltametric sensors, this is our core competency and primary detection method We can provide other detection methods via systems integration and custom design

WHY CHOOSE INTERSCAN? Being both the manufacturer of the sensor and the instrument affords Interscan optimum applications flexibility Being both the manufacturer of the sensor and the instrument affords Interscan optimum applications flexibility We are a privately held company, providing reliable and affordable toxic gas detection solutions for more than 30 years We know how to solve your gas detection problem!

BASIC TERMS TLV : Threshold Limit Value TWA : Time-weighted average exposure concentration for a conventional 8 hour workday and a 40 hour work-week STEL : Short-Term Exposure Limit. Usually a 15 minute TWA exposure that should not be exceeded at any time during a workday Action Level : This is for benchmark purposes for the initial screening of a workplace. This level is one-half of the allowable 8 hour TWA for a particular substance. Should levels equal or exceed this amount, then regular monitoring must be employed ppm (Part Per Million) 1 ppm= 1,000 ppb. 1%= 10,000 ppm ppb (Part Per Billion) 1 ppb = ppm

GAS DETECTION: A SIMPLIFIED HISTORY Early 1900s combustible gas was being detected in mines MSA started in 1914 % LEL Detection (Methane LEL = 5.0%) O 2 Deficiency I.H. Section of the American Public Health Assoc. started in 1914

40 Years or so after - I.H. section blossomed into the two associations we know today A.C.G.I.H Until this point, gas detection consisted of % level measurements Monitoring for combustibles does not require specificity Pioneers of toxic gas detection: Early 1970s A.I.H.A. Monitoring for combustibles does not require sensitivity GastechMSARikenDräger 1975 Interscan Corporation 1973 Energetics Science (Ecolyzer)
