Goals and Indicators

Indicator for MICS3 Indicator: Percentage of children 5-14 years of age involved in child labour activities Numerator: –Ages 5-11 at least one hour of economic activity or at least 28 hours of household chores per week –Ages at least 14 hours of economic activity or at least 28 hours of household chores per week –Economic activity of children is defined as any paid or unpaid work for someone who is not a member of the household, or other family work Denominator: All children 5-14 years of age

Indicator used in MICS2 Indicator: Percentage of children 5-14 years of age who are currently working Numerator: Children 5-14 years of age who have done any paid or unpaid work for someone who is not a member of the household or, in the last week, who did 4 or more hours per day of housekeeping chores in the household, or did other family work Denominator: All children 5-14 years of age
