Lesson Aims To learn about global sources of energy To learn about acid rain Key Skill = Numeracy Drawing pie charts to show sources of gasses causing acid rain

Emissions are gasses such as sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxides from vehicles, factories and power stations. Transport wind moves the emissions away from the urban industrial areas. Transformation the emissions mix with water in the atmosphere to form weak sulphuric and nitric acids. Depositions the acids come back to earth as acid rain, mist or snow. Sensitive ecosystems often deposition occurs a long way from the emissions in non-polluted, unspoiled areas where they are much more dangerous.
