13 Parent Outreach Present about MSIX at PAC meetings or parent nights –Utilize the REACTS “MSIX for Parents” Presentation Available in Spanish and English –Give parents/youths their MSIX ID or copy of consolidated record –Ensure MSIX is on the agenda (determine how many times per year) Give parents / students their MSIX ID number –During home visits, at parent meetings, upon enrollment, upon leaving, etc. Utilize MSIX training system and show parents what MSIX is and how it looks –Show at Parent nights or PAC meetings –Contact MSIX help desk for access

14 Parent Outreach Choose parents who have had success with MSIX or understand it very well to serve as MSIX “champions” or “advocates” –Speak at parent meetings –Help develop materials explaining MSIX –Talk to other parents –Share their personal MSIX “success story” Create videos (e.g. YouTube) to share with parents that explain or mention MSIX –Videos can be shared at parent meetings, home visits, or put on state’s/district’s/region’s migrant webpage

21 Parent Outreach Explain MSIX as another benefit the MEP has to offer If informed by the family, utilize the “send notification” in MSIX to make new location aware up upcoming move –Let family know about this as another benefit of MSIX Create a “script” for MEP staff to use when explaining MSIX to ensure consistency in information provided to families Utilize PAC members to aid in creating an outreach plan and documentation to be provided to other parents –Present at LEA/Regional Meetings –Can accompany for home visits
