SIGN SYSTEM: FACEBOOK IconMeaning Calendar: A picture of calendar signifies that a list of tasks/events would be shown on a calendar. Icon used is not related to birthdays, but related to dates on which birthdays of friends fall Close friends: An image with a white rectangle and star doesn’t seem to signify anything. The white portion can relate to documents which may be used for signifying updates but the whole thing relates neither to “close” and nor to “friends” Events: Signifies the calendar entries for particular dates in the calendar. Does not relate to events but to actually it stands for a list of events for a particular day. Games: Signifies a game of cards but actually stands for a list of game requests from friends.

SIGN SYSTEM: FACEBOOK IconMeaning Messages: Signifies messages. Icon is widely used to represent messaging system. Notifications: Seems to signify earth but actually stands for notifications. This symbol alone looks like an earth with 2 pieces. Here it no way relates that to notifications Popularity Meter: When the word “meter” is said, a meter showing reading comes in mind. This image signifies a tool. This icon gives a tool which is unrelated to popularity and meter Questions: Indicates a poll system. Actually, it does show the questions and the option our friend(s) have voted for. Subscriptions: Doesn’t really specify if it’s a subscription to newsletter or to something else.

PRINCIPLES IN DEVELOPMENT Library Principles Friend list is arranged by friend names in ascending order.
