Employee Relations Myth Myth: Employee Relations always looks out for the interests of the management. Fact: We are neither management sympathizers nor employee advocates. Our responsibility is to ensure that we hear both sides of an issue, determine the facts, and make recommendations for action that are in the best interests of the manager, employee, and university.

Employee issues are kept confidential to the extent appropriate and possible. Some information may be shared on a “need-to-know” basis.
