 There are two types of locations.  Absolute location: precise spot on earth using longitude and latitude. (Exact)  Relative location: lactation of a place with comparative landmarks. (Close)

 Relative location: › St. Louis, Missouri is in eastern Missouri along the Mississippi River southeast of St. Charles › Dardanelle, Arkansas is located on the western side of Arkansas River, 3 miles from Russellville, Arkansas.  Absolute Location: › St. Louis is 38˚ North 90˚ West › Dardanelle is 35˚ North 93˚ West

 Tell me what type of locations A is and what type of location B is using the terms Absolute and Relative Location.  29˚ 55’ N 90˚21 W  West of Arkansas River, South of Mtn. Nebo, and North of Centerville

 Latitude are the imaginary lines that run North and South of the Equator. › These lines are also called Parallels  Longitude are imaginary lines that run East to West of the Prime Meridian. › These lines are also called Meridians  Ways to remember: › Latitude= lay down › Longitude= long
