 Sport is one of key elements of many people’s life.  Every day a few hundred million people in the world practice sport.  Practicing sport carries a lot of benefits. Some of them are: o improving and rising the efficency of our body o making a man more noble.  Through sport based on universal values it is possible to create proper behaviours and attitudes in the society.

Sport is based on universal values. The most important of them are:  Honesty  Cooperation  Perseverance  Patience  Tolerance Our activities in other areas of living should be based on the same values.

 Honesty is the core value on which the sports competition should be based.  Strictly related to the honesty is the idea of fair play. It is the idea of honesty, kindness and sacrifice in sport.  From sport, honesty has moved to other areas of life, eg. to business or politics.

 In team sports the cooperation is more important than the skils of individual athletes.  It determines whether the team will reach good results or loose the match.  Even great personalities are not able to achieve success alone – behind them are other figures, such as their trainers and the rest of the staff.

 Perseverance is the key in sport.  Without the perseverance and determination any athlete would not be able to win. The perseverance is the key to success.  Overcoming own weaknesses and dealing with difficulties is also important in everyday life.

 Success in sport is preceded by a long preparation, workouts and sacrifices.  Athletes are sometimes waiting on their personal or team success for ages.  For the results of our taken actions in other areas of life we also have to wait.  Patience is very desirable attribute.

 Sport brings people together and teaches tolerance.  Sport’s teams are composed of people who represent different nationalities and different skin colors.  Sport is practiced also by the disabled people, who worthly represent their country at the Para - Olympic Games.
