What is BME? Discipline of engineering that bridges the medical and engineering field. Many areas of focus, such as forensic bioengineering, tissue engineering, and biomedical imaging. Typically work in manufacturing, universities, hospitals, etc.

What type of work does a BME do? Most common work is designing medical equipment and supplies. Other common work of BME include research/development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and electromedical control systems.

Why study BME at WSU? WSU is located in Detroit, within reach of the urban health industry. One of only three research universities in the state. Has been doing BME research for over 70 years.
