Partners : MEDITERRANEAN FORUM OF PUBLIC SERVICE PRESENTATION 1

The Forum: A community of exchange and sharing of resources between schools and public service training institutes of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. 2

Objectives: Promoting exchange between schools and public service training institutes of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Sharing resources on public administration, governance, public service training, human resources management or public service values. Developing synergies/partnerships between members. 3

Outcomes: Creating a space for dialogue between agents involved in public service training. Strengthening the bonds between schools/institutions on both the Northern and the Southern border of the Mediterranean Sea. Sharing experience, innovations, resources, ideas… Anticipating public sector evolutions. 4

Main actions: A digital platform – - updated by its members, schools and public service training institutes and their existing networks. Regular meetings between members of the network such as conferences and workshops on public service training, public administration, governance… 5

Complementarity with other networks: GIFT-MENA (Governance Institutes Forum for Training in the Middle East and North Africa) OECD Global Network of Schools of Government IASIA (International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration) ARADO (Arab Administrative Development Organization) 6

Why sign up? To use all the resources available on the website. To upload any documents you think are relevant and could be used by your Mediterranean colleagues. To receive a regular alert informing you of news, upcoming events, resources, debates and so on. To promote your organization by uploading your current affairs and leverage your own expertise. To have access to debates and conversations on the discussion forum. To develop partnerships and common projects, share experience, and benefit from the expertise of other members… 7

The Forum prospects: Creating a section on the Forum website allowing members to broadcast ads (Experts contributions or trainings, development of training modules, exchange programs for teachers / students between members…) Member studies and surveys Awards / Competition between members Advocacy in national and international institutions… 8

Upcoming event: 2 nd Meeting of the Mediterranean Forum of Public Service Theme : “Training as leverage for development” Date : June 2 and Venue : Centre de formation et d’appui à la décentralisation (CFAD) - Tunis (TUNISIA) 9

Registration for the 2 nd meeting: 10 from the 2nd to 3rd June 2015 in Tunis. Since 6th of March 2015, Forum members may register on line to attend the next meeting of the Mediterranean Forum which will take place from the 2nd to 3rd June 2015 in Tunis. Registration deadline : 30th of April 2015.

IMPORTANT: By choosing French, English or Arabic, you can access and update news, upcoming events, resources and the discussion forum in one of these languages. Remember to switch languages accordingly to the document or piece of information that you wish to upload. Choose a language 12

Create your own access code and password (password with 5 characters at least) How to sign up (2) Once you have completed this form, administrators will confirm your registration in the shortest possible time. You will then be able to benefit from all the Forum’s features that are presented to you in the following slides. 14 “Free and without any commitment”

Accessing your profile: Once your registration has been confirmed, your profile will be created. You will then be able to manage your favorites, modify your profile and choose your preferences. You will also have access to your activities’ history on the Forum. 15

Uploading resources (1) Type the file’s complete title and if possible indicate the institution that published it and the year of publication. 16

Uploading resources (2) Web link to the file (if available) Write a short summary of the document and insert a link to the document (see slides 39 to 42 “insert a link”). It can be a web link or a link to a file on your computer. Rank your file according to its theme. 17

Uploading resources (3) Web links that could be useful in order to understand the document or to know the institution that published it. Uncheck this box. Country involved with the file (your country, if applicable). 18

Uploading resources (4) This message will appear once you have cliked on « Soumettre à validation ». Administrators will confirm your file in the shortest possible time, and it will be automatically uploaded. 19

Uploading news (1): What is meant by “news”: News of your institution or of the Forum. Press articles on public service, public administration, decentralization, training tools and methods, local authorities… 20

Write the news’ complete title and click “create”. Uploading news (2) 21

Uploading news (3) If possible, insert a picture in order to complete the news (you can download the picture from your computer or from a website // You can also import a picture simply by copy-pasting it from any other file) Write the news’ content or summary If the news comes from an external source, indicate this source and insert a link to the website from which it was taken (see slides 39 to 42 regarding how to insert a link). 22

Add the presentation of a new structure member (2) First, click « Accéder au brouillon » to the right of your country’s members list (1), then indicate the new structure’s name in « Pages annexes », then click “Create” (2)

Insert a link (4) The link is now created (the font color has changed), you can change the text without altering the link. Regarding “Wiki Page” and “Attach file”, you merely need to search for the appropriate page on the Forum or for the file on your computer. 42

Modify an online document – Resource : In order to modify a resource, first, you must click on the file you have created (here titled “TEST”). Then click “Accéder au brouillon” and modify your file’s content. Save and close. Then submit it again. You can also unpublish the document. 43

Upcoming changes in 2015: The menu layout will change in 2015: there will be a new section: “Advertisement” in the “Discussion” section This new section will allow you to upload all sorts of propositions (only accessible to subscribers).
